The Waldviertel—a picturesque region situated between Vienna and the former Iron Curtain. The body of a woman is found floating in a large pond deep in the woods. Detective Paul (Fritz Karl) of the Lower Austrian State Criminal Police Office in St. Pölten faces a mystery: the elderly woman’s apparent swimming accident might actually be the perfect murder. There is no motive, no forensic evidence, and no suspects. Did the victim know something that cost her her life? Or is the crime linked to the disappearance of a young woman ten years ago?
